It all began with EPCOT’s “Mission: Space”

EPCOT Center. Walt Disney World

Creating the ultimate Space simulation

When asking people what they would most like to experience about Space, the "launch" was high on the list. Sotto's concept development studio set out to deliver that as first priority, as that is where the "wow" would be. They set out to create a ride system to duplicate the extended G-forces of a real Space Shuttle launch and give that experience to the guest. The ride system had to be unique, yet accurate to the Space Shuttle. That meant facing heavenward experiencing those same G forces. Pitched on the floor outside of Imagineering President Marty Sklar's office, Eddie laid on his back pretending to steer and barking commands, in a demonstration of how unique flying the craft would be. Marty liked the new approach and approved the concept studio team to build a mock Capsule that Disney CEO Michael Eisner experienced, then he too on his back, "green lit" the project. The rest is history.  The Imagineering team went on to produce an attraction that won and IDEA Award for it's outstanding design. Architecture by COLAB.

Proud to have worked with both in creative and interior design innovation,

THEN WE GOT REAL. Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic chose SottoStudios

SottoStudios has Zero G in our blood. Although US Export laws and NDA’s prohibit us from showing our work from Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic, we can say that being a leader in guest experience development and interior design in aerospace drives our work in this field. Beginning with “Mission:Space” the first centrifuge space simulator attraction decades ago, we have been involved in development of what happens before, during and after real space flight as part of our work for leading space firms. We also design the interiors. If you are in the Space industry, we’re happy to meet with you to discuss how we can take your flight further and sell more journeys. If you are in attractions, we can also develop the ultimate PREVIEW CENTER or SIMULATION of space flight as we proposed for Kennedy Space Center.

We begin with loose concepts and develop “storyboards” of the entire guest experience. Space Attraction KSC/NASA.
